23.04.2025  Montel News Iberia    Spain’s nuclear output hits record lows amid surging renewables

During the week of 14–20 April 2025, nuclear generation in Spain dropped to an all-time low, averaging just 2,049 MW. On 17 April, output fell below 30% of installed capacity—marking the lowest utilisation levels in recorded history.

This strategic reduction aimed to avoid further market distortions amid a rare combination of factors:

▪️Weak electricity demand
▪️A long Easter holiday weekend
▪️Strong forecasts for renewable generation
